What is Steel Wire Rod?
Wire rod is manufactured by hot rolling billets on continuous rolling mills.
Wire rod is primarily cold drawn for the production of steel wire, which is then processed into wire ropes, springs, electrodes, barbed wires, and steel reinforcement for aluminium conductors and pre-stressed concrete, wire mesh, fasteners, automobile components, hardware manufacturers, nails, etc.

Cold Heading is a process of high productivity using punch and dies to transform a steel wire rod at room temperature. Screws, bolts, rivets, etc. are produced by cold heading.
Ductility and strength required for cold heading are obtained by a wide range of low carbon, alloyed, and boron grades.
