What is Rebar ? (Concrete Reinforcing Bar)

Rebar, also known as reinforcing steel bar, is a steel bar used to reinforce concrete and masonry structures. The rebar strengthens and holds the concrete in tension. To improve the quality of the bond with the concrete, the surface of rebar is patterned with ‘ribs’.

Rebar is necessary to compensate for the fact that whilst concrete is strong in compression, it is relatively weak in tension. By casting rebar into concrete, it is able to carry tensile loads and so increase overall strength and stability.

Rebar is delivered in ‘lengths’ and ‘coil’ form.

Specification

We supply prime steel concrete reinforcing bar, in lengths and 'spooled' or 'compact' coils.

CARES approved.

Coil weight : 2 to 5mt

Grade

BS4449. B500A, B500B, B500C

Diameter

6.00 to 50.0mm.

Length

Upto 15m.

Delivery

By container or bulk vessel.

Packing

Packing in approx 2mt bundles, for lengths.

During the de-coiling process a spooled rebar minimizes tangles. Spooled rebar coils compared to 'wild' coils have reduced tension and internal stresses, thus producing a straighter final shape. In turn this increases productivity.
