What are Steel Merchant Bars?
Merchant bar includes a wide variety of steel long products with different cross-sections, such as rounds, squares, flats, angles, and T-sections. The steel grades used for merchant bars are typically weldable, low-carbon structural steels.
Merchant bars are produced from semi-finished steel billets and are extensively used in building construction, mechanical engineering, and the energy/transport sectors where welding, bending, and punching are required.
Square Root Angles
Produced with a very small root radius (R0.4 to R0.8), square root angles offer efficient packing and optimized weight-to-price ratios. These are ideal for precision framing and are typically supplied in the 20-50mm range.
