Reversing Mill Plate

Reversing describes the re-rolling process, generally on a set of four roles, back and forth (reducing the thickness incrementally with each pass) to the required size and tolerances

The basic properties required of plates are strength, low-temperature toughness and weldability. To obtain good strength and low-temperature toughness, it is important that an optimum microstructure be formed by the best combination of reheating, rolling, and accelerated cooling at the plate mill.
